The postmodernist model of librarianship is a threat to libraries. Voices calling for a revolutionary change in librarianship are a sign of disturbing broader trends in modern societies. There is a clear tendency towards relativism and even irrationalism and this is reflected in librarianship. Concepts such as truth and objectivity are being questioned and often rejected.
